Nigerian popular Afrobeat star, David Adeleke better known as Davido has once again put Afrobeats at the forefront as he shut down the Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, for the first time ever.
Davido performed many of his hit songs, from Skelewu to Stand Strong, Feel, Unavailable, among others, at the historic location as a part of his lengthy Timeless Tour.
Aside from his solo performances, the Nigerian star followed through with his ‘we rise by lifting others’ mantra as he brought the likes of Teni, Zlatan Ibile, Faves, The Cavemen, including Ghana’s Stonebwoy to the Stage.
Although the renowned music star has been in the news for some wrong reasons but this time the DMW label boss didn’t just perform on stage he gave his fans reason to smile and believe in him once again by extending his good deeds to a female fan who attended his show with a poster of her requesting he pay her loan.
Out of the loan that worth over $100k which the girl is owing, Davido promised the young lady $50k (over N50m).
Meanwhile, a recent announcement by BET about the singer comes at a dire time that would help uplift the dampened spirit of many of his fans.
The American entertainment brand recently announced that the Nigerian music superstar will headline the BET Experience concert in 2024.
The Afrobeats star would headline the 2024 BET Experience alongside American rappers Cardi B, Gunna and Sexyy Red, this making him the first Afrobeats star to headline the BET FanFest Experience.
Though this isn’t the first time Davido would headline a BET event. He was the guest artist at the 2023 BET Awards in Atlanta.
This announcement is coming days after a video of Davido crying and begging an American model for a private bedroom session went viral. An allegation both the singer and his wife has remained silent over.
