Nigerian singer and hit maker Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj has expressed his admiration for his controversial colleague, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable.
The ‘Oliver Twist’ hitmaker stated that he wished he could be like Portable, stressing that he and the ‘Zazu’ crooner have something in common.
D’banj added that everyone needs a pinch of Portable in them.
He made statements in a recent interview with The Beat FM, Lagos, the Koko Master said, “I wish I could be like Portable because he is doing the way I used to do … You feel something in the night, you call Don Jazzy. You drop it in the morning.
“Remember the way we dey do that time. But now dem dey tell us say make we wait for two or three weeks and put it on playlist. Forget that. I think everybody needs a pinch of Portable in them. I think that is what he reminds me of; for you to take everything as an opportunity. They said for you to make it in life you’ve to be lucky. Luck is opportunity finding talent. That’s what we are.”
In other news Popular musician Akeem Ololade, better known as Asake is currently trending on social media following claims that he removed music sensation Olamide’s Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) record imprint from his Instagram account.
Recall that Olamide Baddo signed Asake in February 2022, and he has since become one of Nigeria’s top Afrobeats stars.
Asake made headlines after unfollowing everyone and erasing all of his Instagram posts.
However the singer’s recent Instagram activity has sparked curiosity concerning his agreement with YBNL record label.
