Veteran nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has taken to social media to warn movie producers against engaging nollywood teen actress Angel Unigwe’s services over mother’s behaviour.
Giving his reasons for the callout, the actor, who is well respected in the industry accused the actress and her mother of allegedly breaching a contract.
In a now-viral video he posted on his Instagram page, the veteran claimed to have been informed of situations where the actress’ mother held producers to ransom, but he didn’t believe it until he suffered same fate.
According to him, Angel Unigwe’s mother is in the habit of breaching agreements with movie producers after receiving payment, and he hadn’t experienced this until it happened to him recently.
He revealed that he had had an agreement with Angel’s mother for the teen actress to be part of a movie shoot till 12 am.
However, at about 9pm, Angel’s mother came to the set and took her daughter away, breaching their contract.
He called on all producers to desist from working with Angel Unigwe and threatened to disrupt any movie set he finds her.
“I am making this video to protect the entertainment industry in Nigeria. A particular woman has been holding producers to ransoms and it is unfortunate it has happened to me. Unfortunately, she is Angel Unigwe’s mother. A contract is breached by every producer, orally or written and it’s all respected but I found out that immediately this woman takes money from you, everything changes. She took her daughter at 9 pm when the particular date that we agreed hadn’t expired. She came at 9 pm and took her daughter.
“I have gotten reports from people before it happened to me. This is a Clarion call to producers, I beg you in the name of professionalism, from this moment to the first day of July 2024 any set that employs the services of Angel Unigwe, I will come to that set and make sure filming doesn’t hold. Her mother has been threatening many producers,” the angry veteran warned.
Meanwhile, netizens have taken turns to react to KOK complaints. While many supported his move, others questioned the veteran actor for blacklisting the teen actress in such manner.

Do you know that one scene in a movie can spoil the whole shoot and millions gone down the drain just like that? Why not tell the producer before walking out of the set? A contract is a contract be it written or verbally .”
