Nigerian international singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has issued a warning to record labels that are copying his style of music and branding their artists in the same way.
The singer hinted that some record labels are now trying to model their artists after him and are imitating his music style and overall brand.
He urged record label owners to be more creative and stop trying to clone him.
On his X handle, he wrote: “Labels get creative, stop trying to clone me.”
The ‘Calm Down’ singer also boasted that he “made Afrobeat EP’s a Big statement. Every new Artist since 2019 ate from the same template. Uh oh.”
Meanwhile in an earlier post on his X account Rema insinuated that he is now on the same level as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido are widely regarded as the biggest Nigerian/Afrobeats artists in the world and are jointly referred to as the “Big 3.”
Rema in his claim said he now belongs to the elite list.
In his post on X he asserted that he is now in that league when he wrote: “No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4.”
In other news, popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has claimed that the Nigerian music industry has never been peaceful ever since he joined.
On his X handle on Sunday, the singer wrote: “Since I came in the game dem never get peace .. I love it ! Make I find somewhere with beach go relax.”
The 30BG boss had sometime in 2022 alleged that some of his colleagues in the music industry are ganging up against him.
“Me vs the industry! Love it!,” he wrote via X in 2022.
Meanwhile, the singer has generated massive reactions after a video of what he did to his wife’s car was sighted on social media.
In the video the Grammy nominee was seen in the red jeep pulling up at Zlatan Ibile’s house in a cheerful mood. He noted that the jeep did not belong to him but his wife as he parked it in front of Zlatan Ibile’s house. He came out to greet the singer and went back into the whip to get his drink and remove the key from the ignition.
